"We are all products of our accumulated life experience."

OUR STORY
Master Mind Foundation, situated in Cape Town, was registered as a non-profit organization in South Africa in 2021. Dr. Rechelle Jacobs founded the organization with the goal of equipping society's marginalized and vulnerable groups with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions.

It all started when she assisted a friend in understanding and passing matric mathematics, allowing her friend to be admitted to university. Rechelle traded her mathematics skills for a meal and positively influenced someone’s life journey and career. Rechelle found herself making rash decisions
with limited exposure and possibilities since she had no one to help her recognize her strengths, talents, purpose, and potential. Despite these obstacles, she constantly assisted individuals who crossed her path informally and in her personal capacity. She did this with her family, friends, students, colleagues, and wherever she served in the community. She supported them with career guidance talks, personally covering registration costs for matriculants who qualified for higher education, or dancing classes for those with the gift and aptitude for dance. She gave numerous opportunities to students and served as a conduit for personal funding for study completion.

Many students in marginalized communities do not complete a basic education. Some seek higher education and study in a field unrelated to their purpose, while others quit. In some circumstances, people end up working in a field completely unrelated to their academic background, while those with artistic talents and gifts rarely pursue them due to a lack of funding or exposure to opportunities. People from marginalized groups who have an entrepreneurial spirit start a business, but relatively few go beyond the level of a micro or small business due to a lack of opportunity or access to resources and capital. Those who work hard and smart are frequently employed and play an important role in the growth and success of enterprises that they do not own. These events repeat themselves, and the cycle of poverty and lack continues from generation to generation, with only a small number of people able to break free.
Rechelle realized the value of pursuing and being involved with the things she is passionate about after being on a continual journey of discovery and having children of her own. The shift from corporate to academic and the pursuit of her purpose in this domain pushed her to impart her knowledge and abilities to the underprivileged, whom she perceived to be in the same situation as she was. Students making rash decisions assisted her in seeing the need for a non-profit organization.
"If you were born into poverty, it is part of your God-given duty to rise out of poverty and into a position of affluence so that you might help others do the same." "Education and informed decision-making are the transition tools that unlock potential and support a purpose-driven life that may serve humanity," says Dr. Rechelle Jacobs.
